Wisconsin Dells, WI (April 29, 2016) The Assembly Products Shootouts are back at Dells Raceway Park for the 2016 season for the Super Late and Late Model Divisions, which will provide a recipe for excitement throughout the summer for fans & drivers alike. Dells Raceway Park will host four Assembly Product Shootout nights in 2016 each paying a cool $1000 to win a 20 lap dash for cash in addition to the normal full program of racing each night with no additional admission charges.
Assembly Products Shootouts will take place as part of the program for the Late Models on July 16th & August 27th & for the Super Late Models on July 23rd & September 10th.
Four chances to stir up a little more excitement is exactly what Assembly Products CEO, Ed Szelagowski Sr. had in mind as architect of the Shootout. "I wanted to create a new level of excitement for the drivers and the fans and to continue through the whole season and to have something to build on," Szelagowski said he received great feedback from the idea instantaneously, its going to add a lot more excitement every week with drivers competing for dash points to become one of the elite ten to get locked in as a Shootout driver. Formatted to reward consistently fast drivers, the Assembly Products Shootout gives the best of the best 20 laps to get the job done. Drivers are given the incentive of a $1,000 pay day when the checkered flag falls. "You can't wait to go, you have to go right now," Szelagowski said of his vision for the Shootout. "The drivers here have such a high professionalism in their driving techniques it will be outstanding racing."
To qualify for The Assembly Products Shootout a driver must accumulate points through weekly dashes leading up to the Shootout. The top ten drivers who accumulate the most points through the dashes automatically qualify. Two Provisionals are added to fill the field bringing each Shootout to twelve cars with alternates on deck in case a driver is unable to participate. The Field will then draw for their starting positions before the 20 lap event for a chance to win the $1000 in recognition of their outstanding achievement. "I do it for the love of the sport," Szelagowski said. "This is a great place to host the Shootouts. When you pull into the pits, it's like coming home. Qualification for the first Assembly Products Shootout begins on Opening Day, May 7th, as Dells Raceway Park kicks off its 54th season of racing.
